About the role
Sun International is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Shared Services Centre. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, statutory compliance and continuous improvement while supporting designated business units.
Key responsibilities
• Prepare and deliver financial accounting and reporting activities.
• Manage tax, VAT and statutory compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and support audit requirements.
• Apply IFRS, legislation and company financial standards.
• Perform tax calculations, SARS verifications and VAT calculations and submissions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Keep up to date with developments in financial reporting and taxation.
• Work with stakeholders and take ownership of resolving financial issues.
Requirements
• Grade 12.
• BCom degree with CTA (Honours), completed articles and CA(SA).
• At least 6 years’ experience in a financial accounting and reporting environment.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and the legislative environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, tax and VAT requirements.
• Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
