A Cape Town CBD employer is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to maintain generators, trucks and vehicles. The role covers servicing, preventative maintenance and carrying out repairs when required, including generator load testing using a load bank.

Repairs & maintenance
- Assess, service and repair generators, trucks and vehicles according to scheduled services.
- Conduct preventative maintenance.
- Perform generator load testing using a load bank before gear checks.
- Maintain records of all load-bank testing for insurance purposes.
Quality control
- Maintain accurate service records.
- Ensure components on trucks and generators are replaced as required.
Team & production support
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and teams.
- Support a stable working environment and team objectives.
- Assist the Supervisor: On Set with scheduling generators for productions.
- Ensure generators with the correct capacity are allocated to each production.
Requirements
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) – Essential
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) – Essential
Experience
- 4 years' experience in a Mechanic/Technician role – Essential
- Driver's licence – Essential
Language
- English – Intermediate
Technology
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) – Basic
