About the role
Econo Foods is looking for a Delivery Driver: Code 14 to join its team in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
The role involves safely operating an assigned truck, completing vehicle inspections, delivering goods accurately and on time, maintaining required records, following safety and compliance standards, and providing professional customer service.
Key responsibilities
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts and incidents.
• Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel and other stakeholders.
• Report mechanical issues and maintenance requirements.
• Follow company policies, traffic laws and safety requirements.
• Keep the assigned truck clean, organised and properly equipped.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow workplace safety guidelines.
• Operate within required safety standards.
• Attend meetings, coaching and training.
• Support the team in achieving operational goals.
• Contribute to the overall achievement of team objectives.
Requirements
• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years' proven experience, preferably within FMCG Retail.
• Code 14 (EC) driver's licence and valid PDP.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft.
• Good accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong safety awareness, time management, navigation and problem-solving skills.
• Professional approach to customer service and documentation.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
