Job Description

A vacancy has arisen at Widney Transport for a Logistics Manager. This position is a JM position reporting directly to the Managing Directors. This position is based in Alrode, Alberton, Johannesburg.

Main Job Purpose: To ensure the efficient management of people and non-people resources to drive production efficiency and maintaining 100% delivery performance of optimal stock levels.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years experience in planning and logistics
• 2 years leadership experience
• 3 years experience in automotive manufacturing environment

Job Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
• Diploma in Logistics or related field
• Good understanding of production planning, material and warehousing
• ERP or MRP knowledge
• SAP experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Manage finished goods inventory to ensure customer supply and demand is met in line with agreed standards and timeframes
• Ensure effective planning of the plant in line with production order so that agreed OEE targets are met in line with budget and site plan
• Ensure minimum stock levels are maintained and readily available for use in production requirements and stock holding
• Ensure effective communication is in place within customer and production to eliminate any unnecessary surprises to parties and to grow trust relationships
• Drive and maintain agreed raw material holding and ensure obsolete stock is closely managed to support site business and financial targets
• Ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures and monitored through talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business
• Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business
